How It All Began…
When you think of how vast the financial services industry is in our country, representing one third of the GDP, it’s challenging to think of how you find your place with purpose, to build a business that services clients while providing for your family. Well, in 1989 Scott Briggs, at the age of 18, looking to build on the second generation of financial professionals, joined a very old captive Fraternal Insurance Company to learn the industry where his father started in 1969. In just 8 short years, his sights were set on helping build a family agency with his father and one of his brothers, and diving into the deep end of true entrepreneurship.
The goal back then was to seek a way to educate as many people as possible in a single setting with the hopes that a percentage would find value in their message and would want to explore their own retirement needs. Quickly their small family agency exploded, hosting 2-3 educational workshops a month, while having thousands attend over nearly a decade. Their agency produced nearly 300 million in annuity business, plus Life Insurance and Long-term care.They were making their mark on a very challenging industry, all with “New Business” and a proprietary seminar system that they developed.
The Next Chapter…
2018 was a year of transition, with Scott’s father retiring after 42 years in the business and Scott and his brother seeking different paths, Scott was ready to take the reins with nearly 3 decades of experience and a vision of building his own brand and a more contemporary repeatable workshop system! While it wasn’t all roses, but through trial & error, a significant investment and persistency, he once again quickly prevailed. This time it was about smaller more intimate workshops, focused on the “Ideal Client” versus the masses.
